A former Australian rules football player Neale Daniher and his wife, Jan Daniher, have been married for years.

He used to play in the prestigious Australian Football League (AFL) for the Essendon Football Club (also known as Bombers). During his eleven years with the club, Daniher made 82 appearances, netting 32 goals. 

After his 1990 season came to a close, Daniher ensured his retirement, but he returned to the field in 1991, playing for Werribee in the Victorian Football Association. He was the club's captain in 1982 and served as a team leader for the final eight years at Essendon.

But his passion for the sport and AFL never wither away. He came back in 1998 as a coach and was hired by the Melbourne Football Club, where he worked as a head team coach for almost ten years till 2007. His match records with the club as a coach are 108 wins, 114 losses, and a draw.

Jan Daniher, Neale Daniher's wife, was his unwavering support throughout his battle with Motor Neurone Disease.

A category of illnesses in which the neurons that regulate muscles die are together referred to as motor neuron disorders. Though it advances slowly, the condition is fatal. 

Neale, a courageous former player for Essendon and current coach of Melbourne, was suddenly unable to put his mind in place when the ailment first appeared. Daniher, a star of the Australian Football League, also tackles the tough subjects of motor neuron disease and mortality in his most recent book, "When All is Said and Done."

According to Mr. Daniher's statement to The Daily Advertiser, the book suddenly appeared to him as he settled down to write a letter to his future grandkids. There weren't any when he started, but Mr. Daniher, a father of four, is now a grandfather to two grandkids.

Neale Daniher Early Life, Grew Up With Three Brothers in His Family

Neale Daniher was born Neale Francis Daniher on February 15, 1961, in West Wyalong, New South Wales, Australia, as the third born of his parents.

He was the youngest in a family of six. Daniher, the third child of James "Jim" Daniher and Edna Daniher, had his elementary schooling at St. Joseph's Catholic School in Ungarie.

He afterward joined St. Patrick's College in Goulburn and Assumption College in Kilmore, where he concluded his senior year. The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University is where he went after that to study the new technology that was being developed in the 1980s.

Growing up and participating in the Northern Riverina Football League (NRFL), Daniher first displayed his passion for sports, specifically Australian rules football. Daniher and his three brothers played for the same squad for New South Wales in a single VFL/AFL game on September 1, 1990, making them the first four brothers to do so.

Born on August 15, 1957, the 65-year-old is a former AFL player who played for  South Melbourne and Essendon Football Clubs. He is the proprietor of Melbourne-based cleaning firm Terry Daniher Cleaning Services.

Additionally, Terry served as an assistant coach with the Carlton, Essendon, Collingwood, and St. Kilda Football Clubs. He is a Champion of Essendon and a member of the Australian Football Hall of Fame and the Wagga Wagga Sporting Hall of Fame.

Anthony Daniher

Anthony was born on January 21, 1963, and is 59 years old. He pledged his loyalty to South Melbourne/Sydney and Essendon Football Clubs during his time at AFL.

The facilities management company Danihers Facility Management, which operates in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney, is now owned by Anthony. Young AFL player Joe Daniher is descended from him.

Chris Daniher

Chris is the last son of Jim Daniher. Born on March 31, 1966, the 56-year-old former athlete also played for AFL side Essendon from 1987 to 1997.

He appeared in 124 VFL/AFL games with Essendon and competed in the 1990 and 1993 Grand Finals. He won the championship with the club in 1993.

In June of last year, Rebecca, the daughter of AFL veteran Neale Daniher, and husband Drew Howell revealed they are expecting their first kid.

She told the Herald Sun that delivering the happy news to her family was very special and heartwarming. Neale now has two grandchildren: Cooper, a grandson, and Rosie, a granddaughter.

Neale, a former captain of Essendon and head coach of Melbourne, received an MND diagnosis in 2014. According to Health Direct, MND is a syndrome that damages nerve cells, resulting in muscular weakness that worsens over time and ultimately results in paralysis.
